A post-doctoral position is available in the research project Generation of induced pluripotent stem cells from epithelial cells in urine of individuals with Down syndrome, supported by FAPESP and conducted at Instituto Israelita de Ensino e Pesquisa Hospital Albert Einstein, in São Paulo city, Brazil. Registration must be made by August 31, 2019.

The project's main objectives are to generate induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) from individuals with Down syndrome and controls from epithelial cells in urine, differentiate them into neurons and astrocytes, and evaluate cell phenotypes associated with the functioning of the N-methyl D-Aspartate receptor and complement system.

Proven prior practical experience in cell culture, reprogramming and differentiation of iPSCs, with a preference for differentiation in neurons and astrocytes, are required. Those interested must have completed the doctorate less than seven years ago.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will benefit from a post-doctoral fellowship (value for National Council for Scientific and Technological Development - CNPq) fully funded by the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein via UNIEMP Institute.
