Applications for a post-doctoral fellowship are invited for conducting fundamental and applied research at the Photonics Materials Lab of the São Paulo State University - UNESP's Chemistry Institute located in Araraquara, Brazil.

The post-doctoral research will be focused on the development of new probes combining electrical and optical detection. The candidate need to develop an appropriate glass material composition to produce optical fiber presenting good electrical and optical properties.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering, and have a genuine interest in conducting interdisciplinary research in an international environment. Previous experience in glass science, solid state physics or chemistry is advantageous.

The Photonics Materials Lab has more than 25 years of experience in synthesis and characterization of glasses, optical fibers and photonic materials. The laboratory is fully equipped with all new technologies for research on glasses.

The period of the fellowship is thirteen (13) months, starting March 2019. The monthly fellowships (non-taxable) include ca. R$ 7,373.10 plus 15% for professional expenses.
