Job Details

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bristol has an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching. The Department currently has a vacancy for a 5-year Lectureship in Microelectronics to support the teaching of our degree course in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Applicants will have expertise in different aspects of microelectronics. Experience in the areas of VLSI including ASIC design and FPGA prototyping, and knowledge and usage of Electronic Design Automation tools is highly desirable. Successful applicants will have a proven track record in high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Bristol is consistently ranked as one of the top places in the UK for Teaching and Research in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The Department is an active and successful centre of excellence in teaching and research, with in-depth specialisation in photonics, microelectronics, advanced communication technologies and electrical energy management.

Much of the Department's research is interdisciplinary, working with colleagues in the Engineering Faculty and in Applied Sciences. The Department runs undergraduate programmes in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Electronics and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering with a high-quality student intake (entry grades are AAA at UK A-level), as well as several advanced MSc programmes. Our focus is on providing a high quality and innovative learning environment.
