We are seeking a Senior Development Officer to join our progressive Advancement Team and build a sustainable portfolio of major donors

The Advancement Unit, located in the External Relations Branch, is responsible for the leadership and delivery of key strategic fundraising and alumni engagement programs to support the priorities of The University of Adelaide.

The Advancement Unit drives alumni engagement through the growth of a cyclical alumni class reunion program to support a significant endowment pipeline. The Advancement Unit oversees a range of activities including alumni engagement, philanthropic fundraising, communications and donor relations.

The ideal candidate will be able to think outside the box and can create a vision for success that will inspire others to follow.

To be successful you will need:
  • Demonstrated experience of major gift fundraising and coordinating fundraising programs and proven success in major gift fundraising up to $100,000+.
  • Experience of how and why a systemic, and data-lead approach to fundraising supports the most effective and efficient philanthropic outcomes.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, appropriate to dealing with stakeholders and supporters.
  • High level skills in influencing, negotiating, motivating and communicating across a large complex organisation and the ability to manage relationships at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and forward planning.
