This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus , renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. About This Opportunity

The successful appointee will be responsible for omics research including genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics and genome scale modelling, and meta-omics in a multi-disciplinary team working on methane bioconversion to liquid chemicals. There are opportunities to work with UQ's Australian Ecogenomics Centre led by Prof Philip Hugenholtz and Prof Gene Tyson.

Our Ideal Candidate

Applicants should possess a PhD in genomics or bioinformatics, molecular biology, or microbial physiology. You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in (meta)omics and bioinformatics, microbial ecology, molecular microbiology, microbial physiology and microbial biofilms. Ability to apply bioinformatics tools to complex microbial processes is essential.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time fixed term position at Academic level A.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $67,542 - $90,982, plus super of up to 17%.
