Job Details

UCL, London's Global University, has a deep and interconnected set of relationships across the capital: through staff, students, alumni, research and education, UCL's dialogue with London and Londoners is profound. Working closely with the city's people and partner organisations, we co-create projects that make a practical and positive difference to the lives of Londoners. Our rich array of activities range from skills training and job creation schemes to citizen-led projects helping improve the air we breathe. The development of UCL East, a new 6,000sqm technology and creative campus, will bring together eight UCL faculties, over 4,000 students and 260 academic staff on a new site at the Queen Elizabeth Park in East London.

Professor Alan Thompson, Dean of the Faculty of Brain Sciences, is the strategic lead for UCL in London as Pro-Vice-Provost (London). The new role of Head of Engagement & Operations (London) will provide senior operational and advisory support directly to the Pro-Vice-Provost (London), working within the Advancement division and drawing on colleagues across UCL. We seek a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual with outstanding professional relationship building, high-level operational and excellent administrative expertise to support UCL in engaging and advancing relationships across the creative, health, heritage and other sectors, partners and industries within the capital. This position will be responsible for creating and delivering an operational framework that will focus and coordinate UCL's activity within London, raising its profile, communicating how London benefits from UCL and in turn the value to UCL of being based at the heart of the capital.

The successful candidate will bring significant high-level relationship development, operational, communications and project management experience. You will have a proven track record of creating detailed proposals and business cases and working across multi-faceted organisations; you will bring strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and will be comfortable at managing a wide range of projects. You will be confident at establishing your credibility and managing a complex set of relationships with senior internal stakeholders across UCL and its partner organisations, as well as external partners. An interest in London and networks within the capital are desirable.

We particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, as they are under-represented within UCL at this level.

We know that our people are our greatest asset and in return we provide an empowering, values-based environment where personal and professional growth are invested in. We offer agile working and flexibility around working hours. We also value mutual respect and collaboration, and have a strong customer-service ethic. Expectations are high and we work hard, but the rewards are huge.

UCL is an outstanding place to work. We welcome people from all backgrounds and strive to create an environment where everyone can give of their best. Working with some of the greatest intellects in the world, you will also be entitled to a generous pension scheme and holiday allowance.

Location: London.
