The Office of Medical Education
The Office of Medical Education (OME) takes a whole of program approach to the education of medical students. OME is responsible not only for the smooth running of UQ MD program but for providing a high quality overall educational experience and appropriate assessment to ensure that graduates are well prepared to be doctors who provide excellent healthcare to their patients and communities wherever in the world they practice
The Office and its staff oversee the development, resourcing and implementation of the MD/MBBS curriculum including assessment. The Director of the OME reports directly to the Medical Dean.
About This Opportunity
Opportunity for an experienced Research Assistant to work with large data sets from the medical program. The data will be available in many different formats and spreadsheets and the appointee will be responsible for data cleaning, coding and a detailed retrospective data analysis.
This position is located at our Herston Campus , UQ's core campus for clinical health teaching and research. Sharing premises with royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and the QIMR Berghofer Medical research Institute, the campus houses a vibrant clinical and research community that delivers innovative and contemporary research and education programs in a clinical academic environment. Conveniently located just minutes from Brisbane's city centre, there is access to multiple public transport connections and cycling facilities.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a Research Assistant with strong capability in the collection and analysis of evaluation data in a large scale teaching and learning project. You will have experience in data coding, statistical analysis, reporting and skills using analytical software eg. SPSS, R, or Python. The successful appointee will also have highly developed communication skills, ability to work to deadlines and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
You must have ongoing unrestricted work rights in Australia to apply for this opportunity.
