School of Chemical Engineering

The School of Chemical Engineering is an international leader in the chemical engineering field and has an excellent reputation, built over many decades at The University of Queensland.

Undergraduate teaching within the School focuses on the disciplines of chemical, biological, environmental and metallurgical engineering and postgraduate programs are available in growing fields including water, sustainable energy and petroleum engineering.

About This Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to perform research and project management including; development, modelling, manufacture and testing of new Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) stack/system.

Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Develop a program of fundamental, applied and contract research in SOFC;
  • Present regular research seminars;
  • Build collaborative research projects;
  • Coordinate and supervise efforts with manufacture and laboratory experiments.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus , renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Our Ideal Candidate

With a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, such as applied Physics or Mathematics, you will have demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of SOFC stack and balance of plant design and manufacture, and development of thermos-mechanical devices.

You will have a high level of enthusiasm with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. With a strong ability to meet strict deadlines, you will also have demonstrated teaching skills at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $95,771.32 - $113,728.12 plus super of up to 9.5%.
