The Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences invites applications for the position of Research Associate for a research project No. PSF/Res/S-AKU/Med (506) sponsored by Pakistan Science Foundation, Islamabad.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Providing assistance to the Principal Investigator in planning, managing, and conducting the research project by determining theoretical aspects of problems and helping with the methods of approach
• Conducting experiments, devising instrumentation and techniques to record and collect test results
• Tabulating and correlating data compiled in research and interpreting the results
• Preparing write-ups of results and presentations for department forums.

Requirements

You should have:

• An MSc/MS/MPhil or equivalent degree in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry or Physiology etc.) preferably with enrolment in MPhil/PhD from an HEC recognized or foreign university/institution with interest in medical research
• At least one year of related experience, however, experience of post MSc/BSc (Hons) research in the relevant field with lab animal handling will be preferred
• Working knowledge in basic sciences with skills in laboratory techniques
• Computer literacy
• Ability to participate in the intellectual input of assigned research project
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
