Do you have experience of interdisciplinary teaching?

Are you able to support learners who are undertaking a transition into Higher Education (HE) with the development of academic skills for success in undergraduate study?

The Arts and Humanities Foundation Year programme is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills for progression to a range of degree programmes in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures.

You will take responsibility for the delivery of the 20 credit module 'Religion, Politics and Society', which is a compulsory module on the programme. The module provides an introduction to current thinking and approaches relating to the study of intersections between religion, politics and society for foundation year learners. You will cover preparation, student support and marking as well as delivery of the module. Teaching will include the delivery of a strand of generic and subject-specific skills workshops, alongside lectures and seminars.

Tutors are appointed on a pro-rata basis of 6.68% of a full-time contract per 20 credit module. Face to face class time is 4 hours per week. Teaching will take place on Fridays from late September through to December 2019. Tutors are unpaid members of the Centre's staff when not actively teaching.
