Office of Marketing & Communication
The Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) provides leadership and expertise in strategic marketing and branding to position The University of Queensland as a world-class, research-intensive university.
We advise on best practice marketing and communication, and work in partnership with faculties, schools, centres and institutes to enhance the University's reputation and to actively engage the wider UQ community locally, nationally and internationally.
About This Opportunity
The Communications Coordinator will be part of a team focused on promoting the University, with a focus on protecting and enhancing the University's reputation through stories, strategic communications, operational communications and public relations. Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally, the successful candidate will collaboratively identify opportunities to enhance the University's brand through a variety of digital and traditional platforms.
This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus , renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment - you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.
Our Ideal Candidate
You'll be degree qualified (or equivalent), with relevant experience in communications, public relations or media. Working collaboratively with industry partners, such as Journalists, you'll be comfortable to proactively seek opportunities and pitching stories, and producing engaging digital and social media content. Demonstrable knowledge of media, national agenda and social is a must.
You must have ongoing unrestricted work rights in Australia to apply for this opportunity.

What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW level 6.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,400 - $83,267, plus super of up to 00% and recreation leave loading of 17.5%.
You will be able to take advantage of UQ Sport Facilities , salary sacrificing options, on-campus childcare, discounted private health insurance, cheap parking, development programs and many other benefits.
