Job Details
The Functional Optoelectronic NanoMaterials group at ICFO, led by ICREA Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos, is running a research program on the design, synthesis and engineering of colloidal nanocrystals and quantum dots based on Environmentally Friendly Earth Abundant elements for optoelectronic, energy harvesting and solar cell applications.
The aim of the research is to design develop and optimize novel nanocrystal and colloidal quantum dot semiconductors with optoelectronic properties favourable for light emission, detection and solar cells. The Group is currently looking for two highly experienced, highly motivated, self-driven and creative postdoctoral research fellows to augment the team.
At the moment, we are looking for researchers with:
1. Strong background on material science or chemistry of materials relevant for solar cell applications. In particular, the incumbent should have demonstrated expertise on the development, synthesis and growth of binary or multinary inorganic nanocrystals and quantum dots, applied in optoelectronics and photovoltaics. Experience in correlating material properties (phase purity, doping, crystallinity, composition, film morphology, interfaces) with electronic and optical properties will be positively evaluated. Direct or indirect expertise on DFT calculations and theoretical simulations will be considered a plus. Experience in solar cell device fabrication and basic characterization will also be positively evaluated.
2. Strong background on photovoltaic device physics and experience in advanced optoelectronic characterization of thin film solar cells. The fellow should have experience with the physics of nanostructured materials (quantum dots, polymers etc.) and be familiar in the preparation of setups for the optical and electronic characterization of devices. Knowledge and experience in carrier transport studies of thin films of such materials would be considered a plus. Direct demonstrated expertise of the afore mentioned features in the fields of colloidal quantum dots will be positively evaluated.
