The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences has a long tradition of high achievement in teaching and research in audiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology. As one of Australia's leading health and rehabilitation educators, SHRS is recognised internationally for its teaching and research staff, alumni and quality of students.

The School has been founded with a strong focus on scientific endeavours and high-quality outcomes. This is supported by our well-established programs with Physiotherapy having been offered since 1938; Occupational Therapy since 1955; Speech Pathology since 1962 and Audiology since 1971. Supporting the School's strong research contributions are two Centres of Clinical Research Excellence, along with a number of research centres, units and collaborations which enhance our research capacity and translation of research into practice.

About This Opportunity

New opportunities have arisen for multiple Lecturers in Physiotherapy to join our SHRS team. You'll gain undergraduate and postgraduate teaching & research exposure with the aim of enhancing student experience and the international profile of the School and the University. The fields you'll specialise as a Lecturer include musculoskeletal , neurological and/or cardiorespiratory physiotherapy .

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus , renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment - you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Successfully obtained a PhD or be nearing completion of a PhD.
  • Possess a primary qualification in Physiotherapy.
  • Be eligible for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
  • Evidence of an ability to
    • develop, undertake and disseminate research relevant to physiotherapy including a record of publication in peer-reviewed outlets
    • establish effective relationships at a university and wider community level, such as industry, government and professional bodies
  • Demonstrated
    • experience in musculoskeletal, neurological and/or cardiorespiratory physiotherapy
    • teaching skills relevant to Physiotherapy at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and a knowledge of a variety of teaching methods
    • commitment to research activities and a willingness to participate in a research team
    • effective interpersonal, negotiation, communication and consultative skills.

What We Can Offer

We currently have multiple full-time opportunities at Academic level B, across both continuing and fixed-term appointments.

The base salary will be in the range $95,771 - $113,728, plus super of up to 17%. The total package will be in the range $112,052 - $133,061.
