Manage a Fostering POD

A London based Local Authority is seeking an experienced Social Work manager to join their Fostering Service in the capacity of an Advanced Practitioner:

• Work closely with the LAC service to improve transfer of cases & working synergy
• LA has adopted the Hackney model so you will be part of a POD
• Weekly group supervision meetings
• Flexible and Remote working available

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a Local authority which has redesigned its Fostering service to combine the assessing and support functions, ultimately to provide a more cohesive service to services users. So far the changes have brought about positive change with service users having continuity of care. Furthermore the team work in close proximity to the LAC service so that all staff have a good overview of service users situations so that they can provide a more holistic package of care.

The Local Authority is also implementing the Mockingbird Project as well as Virtual Reality, both of which have been shown to be effective at improving outcomes for children. As the Advanced Practitioner you will be playing a part in ensuring both projects are implemented without issue as well as managing a "POD" of Social Workers.

To be considered for this post you should have extensive Fostering experience at a Senior Practitioner grade or higher.
